Finishing touches

My beautician ordered lots of boxes of cards from me.  Lani is home from Boston so she helped me box up the cards real pretty and we made these candy canes to put inside the box.  The whole package came out real cute.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Autumn Blessings

I got out my distressed inks and inked up my paper then I ran it through
the Cuttlebug Machine.  I added some sunflower stickers and I thought
the cards came out great!!  I made them bright and colorful
as that is just what our trees look like out the window right now.
Embossing folder is made by Darice and is called Fall Leaf Background.
The sunflower stickers are from EKSuccess.  Paper is from Hollo's.

Scrappy Background

I have a lot of scraps so I have been turning them into scrappy backgrounds.
This one I used shades of purple!

Miss You

I totally cased Pam Tetreault's missing you cards from her blog.
She is so nice to even leave measurements!
I got this 6x6 pack of paper at Walmart and I just love all
the bold prints.  Anyone that knows me, knows that I like to dress in
bright colors so this paper was a perfect fit for me.  I had fun
making these cards.  The sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michael's and
the card stock is from Hollo's.  The punch I used is from EK Success.
I hope you enjoy these fun colors as much as I did.
And once again, thank you Pam!

OWH Sketch #223

Here is my take on OWH sketch #223.
I stamped the flower and then heat embossed it in black.  I colored it and then fussy cut it and glued it on the paper.
My paper is all from Hobby Lobby and my card stock is from Hollo's.
Embellishments are from Joann's.

Flower punch

The other day I went out to get the mail and there was an envelope
from Sandy Allnock with a flower punch in it that I had won on her blog.
The punch is from We R Memory Keepers.
I immediately went to play and this is the card I came up with.
This is the smallest size on the punch that I will use for cards.
The larger sizes will be awesome for decorating packages,
and so many other things.  I just love it.

My New Craft Room

I have always crafted in the basement. For 8 or 10 years, I had a table set up near the washer and dryer, in the chilly damp air.  When my children moved out,
my husband John turned my daughter's bedroom into a dream craft room for me.
He asked me many times what I wanted and where I wanted it etc.
I told him I wanted a large work area and everything at my fingertips.
I had a knee replacement a few years ago and I didn't want to keep getting in and out of my
chair every time I needed something.
He then designed it all himself and went to work, making me this amazing L-shaped desk and several accessories to go along with it.
Notice the windows and all that natural light!
I have 2 nice windows in that room!

This is the back side of the craft table where I have lots
of shelves to store my crafts.  I use plastic shoe boxes
and each shelf is deep enough to hold 3 of them.  I have everything
labeled so it is easier to grab whatever I need.  There are a total of 16 shelves to store
all my fun crafting supplies!

This is all my cardstock.  I got these great sturdy racks online at
a store that sells heavy duty display racks to stores. They were very reasonably priced, but
are very heavy and hold my cardstock well.  All this cardstock comes from
Hollo's paper store in Ohio, where I get all my paper.
I cut all my patterned paper to A2 card size and store it by color in the shoe
boxes on the shelves. And yes I have way more patterned paper than I will ever need!!!

This is the left side of the craft desk where I keep my cardstock,
Cuttlebug and folders, heat gun, ribbon and washi tape.
Everything within my reach!!!!
I had my Cricut set up here too but it took up a lot
of room.  I took it down and only get it out when I need
to use it.

This is my ribbon rack that my husband made for me to store all that wonderful ribbon I have.
He made the heat gun holder and and washi tape holders also.  All this from scrap wood he had
laying around.  They are just awesome and a great help to my crafting fun.
You can see I have a phone, clock and everything I need at my fingertips.

Now for my stamps!!!!  I am very partial to wood mount stamps.
This is the view from my desk.  I originally wanted my stamps hanging on the wall behind
where I sit.  My husband came up with this free standing ladder shelf that goes on the wall in front
of my desk.  He measured all my stamps and built the shelves accordingly. I am really glad he came up
with this shelf idea as I can see all the stamps in front of me and that is awesome for creativity.
In the far right of the picture you can see a lace tablecloth and my tv on top.

This is a side view of the ladder shelf to show you how it stands.
It holds a ton of stamps, so if I make a shopping trip I alway have room for more!
I keep my punches on a lower shelf and on the bottom shelf are notebooks.

The craft room was all built as a labor of love for me and I thank John
with all my heart for making me such a dream craft room that I will
cherish all my life!!!

Vellum

I have been playing with vellum and I like how this card turned out.
I ran the vellum through my cuttlebug and then glued it over yellow paper.
I added a flower embellishment from Martha Stewart and a birthday sentiment to complete it.
Much prettier in person!!

Shaving cream cards

I have been playing around with shaving cream cards this morning.
I think they came out pretty and they sure smell good too.
I didn't add too many embellishments as I thought the background was busy enough.
The shaving cream technique is fun but it sure is messy!
Enjoy!

Thank You cards

I finally finished up all those card kits from Cozy Crop last night.
I vowed to use only scraps for the month of June.
I made a bunch of scrappy backgrounds in blacks and gray tones.
I ordered some stamps from Pam T. and I was itching to "play" with them.
This is one of the stamps I got from her.  The red shiny paper was also
a bonus in the box from her.  It went great with the scrappy backgrounds.
I did not embellish the cards as I thought they were busy enough with that
background and shiny paper.

Using Scraps

I made a goal for myself to use nothing but scraps for the month of May.
Well I brought a bunch of card kits home from my Cozy Crop Weekend so I
have been finishing them up as they were bugging me!!!!  This is one of the card
kits I finished up and it goes right along with me using nothing but scraps.
Since I was busy all month with card kits, I have extended my goal for the month of June.
On this card, I used masculine colors as it seems I am always making flowery cards!!!

Birthday Cards

I made a bunch of these birthday cards and it is a great way
to use up scraps.  They will go in my next box to Operation Write Home.

Cozy Crop House 2014

I had such a great time with these wonderful ladies
at Crop House in Pennsylvania.
As the song goes "Make new friends and keep the old,
one is silver and the other gold"!

I did not know Sandy Allnock was going to do a segment on OWHtv unboxing my cards!
I am quite honored and proud. Thought I would share it with you!

Quick Any Hero Cards

These are some quick and easy Any Hero cards I made
for Operation Write Home.  The paper, embellishments, and
stamp are from Hobby Lobby.  My card stock is from Hollo's.
They came together quickly and if I might say so myself, they
turned out pretty good!!!

In God We Trust

I am still making card kits for my trip to Cozy Crop House in May.
This was OWH sketch 218.
The paper and the sentiment are from Hobby Lobby.
The embellishments on the left side are called Candie Dots and
I got them at the Cozy Crop House last year.  I hope they
have them this year as I use them a lot.

Card Kits

I am making card kits to take with me to Cozy Crop House in May.  I was using my distress inks and my heat gun when my heat gun decided to die on me.  So I got out some papers and created this pretty little card kit.  I got this new heart die yesterday at Joann's for 40% off and I love it.  Oh yea, the washi tape was buy one, get one free!!!!

Green Paper

I have had this green paper forever and decided today that I was going to use it up.  I DID IT!  I used up every little scrap I had.  So glad to get rid of it as I have had it hanging around for a while.  The top card uses OWH sketch 214.  The middle card uses OWH sketch 91.  The bottom card is OWH sketch 83.  The paper is from a 6 x 6 pad from Walmart.  All the stamps are from Hobby Lobby.  All the rest of the card stock is from Hollo's paper store.  Thanks to my friend Cindy for the mojo today!!!

Light house cards

Recently an elderly friend gave me all her old calendars and pockets calendars that had pictures of light houses on them.  She asked me to make cards with all those pictures.
She wanted NO embellishments, buttons, bows or anything like that.  She wanted them very flat so she could mail them.  I was WAY out of my comfort zone here!!!!  Some of the pictures were very dull so I tried using busy paper or bright paper to jazz them up a little.  These were probably the hardest cards I have ever had to make!!!  I made her a total of 35 cards.  I am so READY to get back to ribbons, flowers, buttons and jewels!!!

Just Because

I am in the process of moving my craft room from the basement, up to the second floor in my daughter's former bedroom.  In the may-lay of moving I found a bunch of these white circle sentiments already cut out.  I decided to jazz them up with 2 different dies and there you go a perfect little card.

The black and white paper and the polka dot ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  The rest of all the paper came from Hollo's paper store.  The border punch is from Fiscars.  The dies I used are a plain circle for the white paper, the black die cut is Nestabilities lacy circles and the pink die cut is Nestabilities scalloped circles.
I liked how these turned out so I made 9 of them for my next box to Operation Write Home.

OWH Sketch #210

I made this card from sketch #210 for the Operation Write Home Card Bowl.
I had to hurry up and put it together after that ugly Super Bowl so I could link it up before they chose a winner!  It is not my best job, but not bad for a 5 minute card!

Our Daily Bread

This is my card for this month's Our Daily Bread Challenge.

Masculine Birthday

This is a masculine birthday card in the colors of the Seattle Seahawks who were playing in the Super Bowl this weekend.  I actually want the Denver Broncos to win but I could not bring myself to make a card in blue and orange!

Religious cards

My sister wanted me to make some religious cards
for her to give to different people at her church.
This one has paper from Hobby Lobby and the sentiment
is from Stampin Up.  The embellishments are from
a from Sizzix Flower Layer Set #3. The little embellishment
in the middle is called Candies and I love using them
as they are pretty flat.  The layering paper is from Hollo's
Paper Store, a favorite store of mine and my friend Cindy!

Scraps

My friend Cindy has been encouraging me to post more cards on my blog in 2014.  I decided to use up some of my scrap pile and make cards just with scraps.  Here is a selection that I worked on last week.  I know these are not the best pictures and I am working on a light box thanks to Cindy and Paula.  It is too frigidly cold to go out and get the supplies for it right now but at least I can tell Cindy that I have a blog post!!!  Hope you enjoy!
