Gold Christmas cards

I made 5 of these pretty little cards this morning.
My friend Ann sent me the beautiful Merry Christmas dies.
I got this neat paper from my friend Steff as I asked her to
get me some Christmas pads when they were 70% off.
She got me this gorgeous 12x12 pad of all black, gold and white papers.
I added a little sequin and the card was done.  I tried putting on some
gold snowflakes but they just did not look good.

I also made 5 of these Christmas cards today.
The image was a stamp from Hobby Lobby.
It was a gift from my husband. The sentiment
is from a retired Stampin Up set.  I used shiny
gold paper to make it more Christmas like.
Enjoy!

Holly Christmas Card

This morning I made 5 of these Christmas cards.
I started with the holly and cut it out with green glitter paper.
You could see all the white paper through it and that just did not pop for me
So I cut the die out again in a darker green.
I then took the negative pieces and filled it in.
I really like how it turned out.
Enjoy!

Flowers

Well, by now you know me and flowers.
I love them!
Here are two cards I made using some big flowers.
I colored the red flower with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
The sentiment was stamped for me by my friend Cindy.
The yellow flower was water colored with my Zig markers.
The sentiment is from Joanns that I have had forever.
I got the enamel dots at Adventures in stamping last year.
I cannot wait for April to go this year.
I just like how the cards turned out so I thought I would share with you.
Enjoy!

Cards inspired by Jennifer McGuire

I was watching some Jennifer McGuire videos and decided to make
a few of the cards she was demonstrating.

This card looked easy enough but it kicked my butt.
First you cut all kind of strips of paper and put them
on sticky back paper.  Well I did not have any sticky back
paper so I had to improvise.  That did not work so I was
back to square one.  I finally figured out a way to adhere
them so that part was done.
Next I cut the hello out of the striped paper.
Then I cut out a white hello die and put it in the striped paper.
The hard part was I had to fill in all those little pieces from the
die.  I had my tweezers out and it was not fun.
I finally got the card altogether and it looks simple
but believe me it was not.  I made four of these and
that will be all I make of these for a while!  LOL

From another Jennifer McGuire video I made this card.
I took distress inks and blended them and then
added Perfect Pearls on top to get the metallic look.
I made 2 of theses cards thinking they would be good for
masculine birthdays.

I am done crafting for the day!  These two cards were not easy,

6 more Christmas cards

These are 6 more Christmas cards that I finished yesterday.
That makes 11 cards which completes my goal for January.
I already have ideas for my February cards, now if I can
just remember that idea till then!!!

New Zig Markers

I got new Zig Markers for Christmas and wanted to try them out.  I wanted to try many of the colors so I colored all these flowers. (Of course I did flowers!)  I turned them all into cards today and thought I would share with you.  Enjoy!

Christmas Cards

I have always made the same Christmas cards
every year.  This year I decided to make them different.
My friend Cindy has always challenged herself to make 5 a month so I decided
to follow her lead and try to get 10 a month made.
I made these 5 tonight.
Cindy and I were creating Christmas cards at the same time
and we were sharing ideas and pictures on Facebook.
It was really fun and we are going to do it again next month.
I think I will make 5 different ones tomorrow to have my 10
for this month done.  I never realized how fun making different
cards are.  Last year I made 128 cards and they were all the same.
Talk about tedious and boring.
I really think I am going to like this challenge and I definitely
liked crafting at the same time as Cindy.

Blue snowman

This is another snowman card to send to my card group.
One of the members is having some problems and could
not make her card this month.  I offered to make a card
and send it to the person she was supposed to send it to.
I like how it came out.

Snowflakes

I am in a card group and the theme this month is snow.
That being snowflakes, snowmen, etc.
I had this purple paper and did not want to cut it up
to much so I made this simple card letting the
paper do the job.
The big silver snowflake is from a punch and I put
a snowflake brad in the middle of that.
I mounted it on a silver lattice die cut and put
purple paper under that to give it an accent.

Kitty Cats

I made this card for my little nephew Kai's birthday.
He lives in Portland and I only get to see him
when he comes to Ohio to visit his grandparents.
I colored the cats with Spectrum Noir markers.
I die cut them and then adhered them
to the card.

Enjoy!

Zig Clean Color Markers

I got some Zig Markers for Christmas from my hubby and
I decided to try them out today.
I colored these two cards.
I have a lot to learn and if you
look close you can see my mistakes.
I thought they came out pretty good for my first try.
I love the new markers and cannot wait to
play with them again.

One Stamp, two cards

I am trying to get more use out of my stamps.  I have decided to
use each stamp in several ways if possible.
This first card I stamped the flower on patterned paper.
I heat embossed it in white.  I fussy cut the flowers
and then made the card.

This second card, I stamped right on my white cardstock and then
heat embossed the flowers in black.  I colored the middle of the
flowers with my Spectrum Noir markers and then put this card
together.  I thought it needed something so I faux stitched around the
yellow piece.

I like how these two turned out and I am going to try to "stretch" my
stamps more often.  Each time I get out a stamp, I am going to try
to make at least two cards from it in different ways.
